A Brief History Lesson on Jamie, if you will. 

Where It All Began: The Gigi Era

I grew up in Yarmouth, Maine, just minutes from the coast — the kind of place where salt air, scraped knees, and muddy pawprints were part of the daily routine. My childhood dog, Gigi, was the original adventure partner long before Pine Paw Adventures ever existed. After school we’d head straight to the woods behind the North Road playground, West Side Trail, Pratts Brooke, Winslow Park. Together we were roaming trails, splashing through streams, and exploring until the sun dipped behind the pines.

There are entire rolls of old photos showing Gigi living her absolute best off-leash life — tail high, ears flopping, queen of the woods with her best friend (me) right beside her. Those early wanderings taught me everything I needed to know about dogs: how they think, how they communicate, and how deeply they thrive when they’re outside, free, and trusted.

Professional Experience

As an adult, that instinct for adventure naturally turned into a career. I worked for Big Dog Walkin’ in Boston, driving the daycare van for pickups and drop-offs, leading off-leash pack adventures as the enrichment leader. I later volunteered at Brown Dog Inn, tackling winter walks with big dogs who didn’t care about frostbite, and now partnering with Wagon Wheels to bring dogs to Pratt’s Brook for safe, joyful, off-leash exploration.

     Alongside that, I run independent walks, drop-ins, and pet-sitting for dogs who flourish with a personal touch — the pups who need someone who truly gets them.

    At the heart of it all is one belief I’ve carried since those Gigi-in-the-woods days:

   I just gas up the Pup Mobile, grab the treats, and let them lead the way. That simple idea is what Pine Paw Adventures is built on: giving dogs the freedom to explore fully, return home happy, and land on the couch deliciously tired — the best kind of tired.
